The 1980’s were marvellous times for Porsche, and the 911 was a desirable sports car that unlike most of its rivals could genuinely be used every day. For the 1984 model year, the iconic Carrera name was to be seen on a standard 911 for the first time and with a new 3.2 litre engine would now comfortably exceed 150mph.
The 911 Carrera `Sport` featured front and rear spoilers, 16 inch Fuchs wheels, Bilstein shock absorbers and electric sports seats as standard, whilst the final variants featured the much stronger and desirable G50 gearbox.
This example is a genuine UK Sport model with a G50 gearbox finished in guards red with linen interior. Supplied new through Gordon Ramsay ltd Official Porsche Centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne in August 1988, it still has all the original tools, original book pack together with service book sticker still in place.
The factory supplied specification was as follows:
– 330: Blaupunkt Radio
– 335: Rear seat belts
– 383: Sports seat, left
– 387: Sports seat, right
– 395: Light metal wheels, forged
– 425: Rear wiper
– 473: Front and rear spoilers
– 474: Bilstein Shock absorbers
– 494: Rear shelf speakers
– 567: Windshield green graduated tint
– 650: Sunroof
– 975: Velour carpet in luggage compartment
We are pleased to advise that the car is still in this original specification.
Along with the extensive history file with the car, previous owners have kept a log of everyone who has owned the car, the dates in which they owned it and the mileage of the car from date of collection to date of sale. Something which is very rarely seen!
